An enduring figure in Hong Kong’s fashion industry, Claudia Shaw is head of style advisory for Chanel Asia, a position she’s held for 27 years. In this extensive role, she manages the brand’s regional buying strategy and works with private clients, helping to inform their taste. It’s a fitting day job for someone who’s widely regarded as one of the most stylish women in the city, recognised for her effortless yet fashion-forward approach to dressing. Although born and raised in Hong Kong, Shaw is half Austrian and credits her keen eye for trends to travelling from a young age. Her staple? A white shirt. In fact, she has a whole wardrobe dedicated to this one item. Beyond fashion, Shaw is deeply committed to spiritual practice and dedicates time to assisting others on their journey towards personal growth. She’s actively involved in the Samadhi centre in Sheung Wan, which offers meditation and crystal sound healing. Passionate about food and music too, Shaw has also co-written two cookbooks and recently re-learned to play the piano after a 45-year break.
