Yvette Ho

With a passion for caring for the younger generation, Yvette Ho is the co-founder and executive director of Bloom Academy, Hong Kong’s first primary school to emphasise innovation by providing future-oriented bilingual, project-based education. Ho and her team will soon be opening the Saint Too Bloom Academy secondary school under the same banner. Beyond education, Ho also supports philanthropic efforts for marginalised young people through her role as co-chairman of the Changing Young Lives Foundation, which helps more than 6,000 children in Hong Kong and another 6,000 in the mainland each year. Her motto, “If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow”, continues to drive her youth-education efforts. “We can make a difference in a child’s life and in our city’s future if we choose to,” says Ho. “My goal is to continue to change children’s lives, no matter their background or ability, by developing their innovative mindsets and their own set of coping skills, that are crucial for success in the 21st century. I want to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where children find – and keep – the sparks that kindle deep interest, so they can feel supported and empowered to pursue their dreams.”
